Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actress, dancer and performer since the beginning of the 1990s. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway roles, she played her role in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. Her performance as Essie Carmahiel in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel earned her the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actor in a Play. Annaleigh Ashley, Tony Award winning actor and actress has collaborated with directors, actors, and other performers both on screen and stage for her entire career. Ashford will next be seen with Kumail Nannjiani as part of Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford is in the production for Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson. As a Hulu Original, the film will be a part of Disney DTC's platform. Ashford is set to appear alongside Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the upcoming March 2023 production of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton is the director of the show. Ashford was most recently seen as Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. The show centers around the National Crisis that saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the middle of the nation's first impeachment proceedings in Over 100 Years. Ashford starred for two seasons on the CBS successful comedy B Positive. It was developed by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. The show also featured Ben Vereen and Hector Elizondo. Other Broadway credits are Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the lead role in Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she received another Tony Award nomination. Ashford splits her life between Los Angeles & New York. Her birthplace was in Denver & raised there.
